Japan HoneyMoon ~ Flights/Transfers

Ok la I have a few excited wives and btbs whom wanted to know how I planned for Japan trip…so I shall keep mysef busy writing this post dari tido dalam train otw to work!

Firstly let’s talk about flights and accommodation since these are the two items that are taking the bulk of the holiday costings.

So I started sourcing the flights and accommodation quite late in June or July 2015 six months before honeymoon. For destinations such as Japan it is waaay better to get flights way way ahead of time 10 months or so pun bole..coz international flights are usually booked for year end due to businesses and tours.

I recce on these 3 airlines for pricing:
1) Japan Airlines
2) All Nippon
3) Singapore Airlines

giphy (1).gif

Personally I still prefer Singapore Airlines in terms of comfort la, pricing wise JAL has the cheapest fares. I would also recommend to just book an International airline as baggage, food and comfort is confirmed. At this point, since the flight was in December, even the budget airlines were as expensive as the International carriers. In total i spent about SGD2.2k for 2 pax with JAL.

For Budget airlines

You may research on Scoot or Air Asia, they have deals as well which is super awesome. SCOOT deals is usually Tuesday morning, so watch out for that k!

Another airline which I rase munasabah is also Malaysia Airlines la. Affordable jugak and putting the scares of the recent accidents with MH, prices to Japan is worthwhile. Cuma kita nak kene redha je la ajal maut di tangan Tuhan ye kawan kawan….

Airport landing

This is the difference of airports. Tokyo has two international airports and not all airlines travel to both airports. First is Narita where all airlines that heads to Tokyo lands. BUT!!! Narita is much much further to travel to Central Tokyo. It takes 90 mins(1.5 hours) via their bullet train/taxi/limousine bus.
Second is  Haneda Airport, my favourite airport. Why?! Cos firstly, it is not as busy as Narita, it is about 45 minutes to Central Tokyo via whatever transport!. Customs and immigration is easier and faster to clear here.

Car Transfers

Since I am quite pampered, I usually take the cab to hotels that I am staying, and since this AIRBNB that I choose was unfamiliar cab was a much safer choice! There is a trick to having cheaper cab fares, I paid for about SGD 90 but I guess it is worthwhile I can sleep, drink and eat in the cab, with complimentary WIFI, and also Meet & Greet Session is available. The trick is……..to PREBOOK your transfer. Yes, in Japan if you prebook, there will be so called fixed rates which is much cheaper than hailing a cab. You may use this awesome COMPANY that I always used in my work travels to Japan. MK TAXI
Sebaik jugak la booked a cab, I came down with high fever and when I landed I was hit with Vertigo! yang buat aku cam in a moving Ship over strong waves, rabak seh!! So thank goodness I need not have to drag all my luggages through Public transport.

Trains
You can catch the trains to Shinagawa Station which is Central Tokyo as well. Here is the link to understanding train transfers from Haneda Airport Keikyu Line

Limousine Bus

Limousine bus is the same you may find out the details via Haneda Airport website as well. Usually this is much cheaper option la. Limousine bus usually drop at Major hotels or areas so you can check with them.

Always make sure you have your address ready as this is required by Immigration also taking the public/car transfers allow you to communicate for directions better. Get the Japanese version as well for easier communication.

Ok la, this is just the 1st step to many more of my Honeymoon planning…..nanti saya continue k..now weekends nak balik and rest k!

Sneakpeaks of our PreWed Shoot

I have been procrastinating regarding this post, coz I did not have any idea or words to spit out on how well done the PreWed Shoot went.

So as I mentioned earlier, I had my shoot done on Good Friday Hols..it started on hiccups as my friend turn our transporter for the day woke up late and thus itinerary was lagged by 1/2 hour back. Instead of meeting everyone at 930 am at Arab st, we arrived at 1030 am, with my photographer in tow! Luckily I have a tendency to add in buffer time of predicted lateness.. hehehe

Make sure everyone is well fed before we began the photoshoot. It was loads of fun! Agrobazaar was really cool and despite being a small retail/cafe area, the crowd started coming in like past noon. It is usually quiet but unexpectedly customers start entering when we were busy carrying out the photoshoot.. Glad we attracted that kind of attention for them. Since I had my cousins in tow, i always have to keep them entertained so I had to spend a dime on food and drinks to occupy them…

I had to steal the photos from my trusted photographer to show what a GREAT job he has done!!
So Nifty Degree is whom we have hired for our wedding photographer.. I am still in awe at how nice he has captured all these wonderful moments. Elfean from Nifty Degree worked professionally and make us feel at ease.. Of coz his comments were we gave him helleva fun time shooting us, the most gile gile couple..

So after 1/2 day at arab st we proceed to botanic gardens where we had alot of natural lighting and greenery to play with! Dempsey hills for aircon and ice cream break plus more shots!

I am still patiently waiting for all my photos to be transferred to me! I seriously cannot duduk diam because all the shots were super nice!

* Taken from phone! see the difference of a professional and my miserable bro-in-law camera shot…

Anyways, wardrobe and makeup is Urs Truly. No rental of baju, no hiring of MUAs because I was that cheapskate.I did my home-made curls the night before, makeup early in the morning. Shoes, props are all on my own.

So if you are planning a outdoor shoot, and its all DIY like me! here are the tips i would recommend:
Pre Day Shoot
1) Research on the locations you are shooting
2) If it is some indoor location, seek approval if there is a need to, 1 month in advance
– get all the necessary location contacts, email approvals
3) Ensure a vehicle is arranged to transport yourself, fiancee, cameraman, people involved
– I had my friend who had a van to help us on that day. We got everyone transported together
4) Set an itinerary with timings and bufferings
– Includes travelling time
– the period of estimated time for photography in one location
– buffering time for predicted extensions, late arrival, traffic jams, getting lost
– break times for meals/solat
5) Provide Plan B locations for Wet Weather Programme
6) Inform your photographer the theme of the shoot
– Explain your ideas well, provide some idea photos to the photographer so that they can prepare well
– Tell them your itinerary a week before the day, clarify doubts if need to
7) Imagine the locations of shoot, select your wardrobe and planned them including your other people who are involved in the photoshoot.
– Prepare at least 2 outfits if you have multiple locations
– Prepare different shoes to suit places, I had flats and heels combo
8) Open a Whatsapp Grp Chat to communicate with all involved.

That’s all I have covered it so far for my PreWed Shoot!! Hope you guys have yours planned out as fun as well…coz I certainly did and it is my first activity to the wedding..superbly exciting and it is a surreal feeling..

I can’t stop thanking these people who have helped with our PreWed Shoot. I had some of the Akrab Boys helping as assistants, OUR Awesome Photographer, my videoman were there to capture certain moments. Our wonderful superdriver for the day, without his van and him, i cannot imagine how do we even go about with this outdoor shoot….my lovely cousins and of coz Mr A for being fun as you are!!

I seriously wanna go through these fun moments again…..Alhamdullilah…

Click click Photobooth!

Ok da lama tak blog coz I have been busy for the past weekends with alot of work and weddings… and of coz preps!

So I da managed to find the most suitable caterer for fiancè…Dia nye dad yang the fussy one…as an indian muslim…briyani die must be the proper briyani taste and texture! Thankfully I went to a friend’s wedding and she briyani dam served! Walaupun lauk die super minimal takde variety! i tell you it was puas hati…i can literally jus eat the briyani without adding other dishes! So Mohd. Shah Catering and Services was the final choice for the FIL….finally 2nd vendor down for fiancè..

Next is the question for photobooth….i have been searching high and low for a suitable one… Firstly the question of nak DIY ke nak use a vendor… Then the prob is vendors which are the good ones???I thought i found the 1 but bile i enquire it was hmmmm annoying..i find this request where i have to get the extension from deco for them…

This is very merepek for me because for once you are a vendor…why cant you invest on your own extensions for yourselves…secondly we did not pay the decos to provide you with extension..nanti pape jadi like short circuit ke aper ke..who are you going to blame…and i seriously do not see professionalism in that…yes it is a simple request..but i just think as a vendor you should have your equipments from a-z!

Then I have seen the hoohaaas of wishing wand which everyone is using…but i have been personally involved with my friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid..and sungguh dissappointed with them! I would have expected more props from them since konon-konon nye they are the pioneer so they would have up the game…but props die je da minimal…and not as much as what i expexted…and the guestbook questions were always repeated causing the greetings being quite stagnant…

So I am left with no clue which photobooth vendors are around with quality yet affordable…BTBs! Feeeeedback and opinions pleaaase!!

Second Vendor Signed!

Ranting last week pasal decors right. I have finally make up my mind to go with Comel Molek!!!

Superbly HAPPY!! So another decision making done…pikir punya pikir, discussed with le fiance and my concerns. Discussed with my sister..discussed with my BFF and still convinced that they are the ONE! Finally I paid the deposit and I am very happy with selecting them. Insya allah we will work together nearing to my wedding date!

So this Sunday…I have appointment with Kak Fifi, my future mak andam insya allah. I have not make any down payment yet so we will sit down with her and hopefully I can get to try some clothes on. Mind you I am particular on looking good despite being PLUS-SIZE! Plus size brides are also allowed to look good ok…..and the funny part is le fiance yang suka sangat with the Mak Andam, Kak Fifi coz yes I must admit she is a very sweet MUA and again chemistry was there….

So THIRD vendor on the way….till I blog again! hehehehe I can’t wait for another adventurous weekend!

It is coming…

Finally that step to moving forward in planning for a proper marriage is nearing…Alhamdullilah….

Am sooo looking forward..that meetup between both families will be comin up soon…So once Im back from all my business trips…Bf and me would be searching for my merisik ring..And we are talking more bout wedding preps which is really ASSCITING!!

Thus we decide to recce Habib Jewels from Malaysia…I used to be all Tiffany & Co. kinda girl…but o wells..as you grow older priorities and demands changes as well…

Anyways we had a couple of Bloggers who had their wedding engaging Akrab Kompang! Wanna wish a blessed start to the marriage life…

Preeety brides…Congraats! Once again dearies…. Syukur Alhamdullilah masjid telah dibina and insya allah it will be till Jannah…
