Japan HoneyMoon ~ Flights/Transfers

Ok la I have a few excited wives and btbs whom wanted to know how I planned for Japan trip…so I shall keep mysef busy writing this post dari tido dalam train otw to work!

Firstly let’s talk about flights and accommodation since these are the two items that are taking the bulk of the holiday costings.

So I started sourcing the flights and accommodation quite late in June or July 2015 six months before honeymoon. For destinations such as Japan it is waaay better to get flights way way ahead of time 10 months or so pun bole..coz international flights are usually booked for year end due to businesses and tours.

I recce on these 3 airlines for pricing:
1) Japan Airlines
2) All Nippon
3) Singapore Airlines

Personally I still prefer Singapore Airlines in terms of comfort la, pricing wise JAL has the cheapest fares. I would also recommend to just book an International airline as baggage, food and comfort is confirmed. At this point, since the flight was in December, even the budget airlines were as expensive as the International carriers. In total i spent about SGD2.2k for 2 pax with JAL.

For Budget airlines

You may research on Scoot or Air Asia, they have deals as well which is super awesome. SCOOT deals is usually Tuesday morning, so watch out for that k!

Another airline which I rase munasabah is also Malaysia Airlines la. Affordable jugak and putting the scares of the recent accidents with MH, prices to Japan is worthwhile. Cuma kita nak kene redha je la ajal maut di tangan Tuhan ye kawan kawan….

Airport landing

This is the difference of airports. Tokyo has two international airports and not all airlines travel to both airports. First is Narita where all airlines that heads to Tokyo lands. BUT!!! Narita is much much further to travel to Central Tokyo. It takes 90 mins(1.5 hours) via their bullet train/taxi/limousine bus.
Second is  Haneda Airport, my favourite airport. Why?! Cos firstly, it is not as busy as Narita, it is about 45 minutes to Central Tokyo via whatever transport!. Customs and immigration is easier and faster to clear here.

Car Transfers

Since I am quite pampered, I usually take the cab to hotels that I am staying, and since this AIRBNB that I choose was unfamiliar cab was a much safer choice! There is a trick to having cheaper cab fares, I paid for about SGD 90 but I guess it is worthwhile I can sleep, drink and eat in the cab, with complimentary WIFI, and also Meet & Greet Session is available. The trick is……..to PREBOOK your transfer. Yes, in Japan if you prebook, there will be so called fixed rates which is much cheaper than hailing a cab. You may use this awesome COMPANY that I always used in my work travels to Japan. MK TAXI
Sebaik jugak la booked a cab, I came down with high fever and when I landed I was hit with Vertigo! yang buat aku cam in a moving Ship over strong waves, rabak seh!! So thank goodness I need not have to drag all my luggages through Public transport.

Trains
You can catch the trains to Shinagawa Station which is Central Tokyo as well. Here is the link to understanding train transfers from Haneda Airport Keikyu Line

Limousine Bus

Limousine bus is the same you may find out the details via Haneda Airport website as well. Usually this is much cheaper option la. Limousine bus usually drop at Major hotels or areas so you can check with them.

Always make sure you have your address ready as this is required by Immigration also taking the public/car transfers allow you to communicate for directions better. Get the Japanese version as well for easier communication.

Ok la, this is just the 1st step to many more of my Honeymoon planning…..nanti saya continue k..now weekends nak balik and rest k!

Eh da kahwin ke! Part 1

Its been a week plus already from #barnanaloveaffair wedding fever…I DARE to say everyone who has came..joined in the celebration enjoyed every second of the wedding…i felt like nak bersanding lagi….

As I am currently in Tokyo..honeymooning and my husband (ehemehem…feeeeeeling best eveeer) busy watching ‘Suites’ reruns..i shall summarise the best 2 days of my life..

17 Dec~ My busy henna night…my wonderful simple henna was done by Rini! She is the most sweetest person… #inaibyrini super humble and super cheap… her rates are at $80 without any length limit or patterns..awesome right! It was a busy night with all my close cousins/aunties/bms/friends! I had Ana,Shana,Nurul and Rina who came and eventually helped me with my bunga pahar yg super susah to cucuk and make it fluffy!! Super love these babes of mine!!!

I washed off the henna at 130am as I am a super rimas bride who cannot sit still….and of my tips was to warm up both my hands thus i had tampal koyok near my veinlines, soles of my feet…and dab minyak kapak..it was extremely red by the next day!

18Dec~ I was busy running errands still and I have not slept a wink at all..by noon my baju sandings were all ready and packed..at my place…after maghrib went to to check my venue! Yes i was the mastermind/coordinator of my own wedding…and i was walking on clouds upon entering the CC hall…my Gatsby theme came alive…

All were fresh flowers I love how spacious it looks and so much of walking space…This is special thank you to Uncle Lan from COMEL MOLEK!! He managed to capture my vision and make it super awesome…masya allah! My gfs were saying I was the most chilled bride no tensed up moments…did all my preps myself…no bridezilla bitch up tantrums…*pats on my back!! Highlight of my night was this…put a smile on my face for this!

Lets blog my actual two days in the next blogging..as I super kenyang since husband keeps feeding me so much! And in Japan which is 1 hour later I am super tired la eh!

102 Away!

So what have I done since we are just 102 Days away to the big DAY!!! I think i am gonna blabber my blog away for this post, since I have a breather from work this morning.

1) Make Up Trial Done
My MUA is kak Su Afand whom is home based as well as freelancer from RK Bridal(shall not reveal further) I am comfortable with her alhamdullilah, and I would say relatively happy with her makeup on me. Syukur thor-amat! Got feedbacks from a few of my closed friends, and mentioned my seri da start naik…so i do have my own Pantang thus I give half face 1st k!!

To whomever that is coming for the wedding baru nampak LIVE! k….hehehehehe best la sangat….and I am happy she is quite the old school mak andam and we sat down for almost 2 hours after that discussing my itinerary and things to note! I have also advised her my problematic areas like oily t-zones, sweaty JENDUL! and bla bla bla..these are tips to mention k ladies as your MUA would then take note and prepare the necessary products for the face. Trial make up without informing all these also like waste your time kan…

2) 1/2 Dulangs of Shopping DONE!!!

So one of the Saturdays I went to do ring shopping plus MAHAR shopping and some of the dulang items. I did mention I guess da tak ingat, that Mr.A is the cerewet hubz, he was not into the Platinum rings designs, and his face was down! literally unhappy about it. No signs of sparkly eyes of excitement. So I have thus searched for alternatives and thanks to my fellow BTB Ana, I have brought him to Starlight Gem to meet Mr Sultan for customisation rings. FYI, Platinum cannot be worn as well as I found out recently from my closest friend in the Jewelry business that it still containts gold!

COST of GOLD vs PLATINUM
Currently, gold and platinum are similar in price per gram. However platinum is much more dense, and so more of it is required to make the same ring compared to white gold. Additionally, platinum rings are usually 95% pure platinum, while 14k gold is only 58.5% gold. Also consider that platinum is a bit harder to work with, requiring higher casting and welding temperatures and different equipment. Platinum also can take 3 times longer to finish polish. Therefore, platinum rings are still 80% to 120% more expensive than the exact same 14 karat white gold jewelry.

Cranky penat boy from work sampai terlelap jap sambil pilih batu2….But overall he has designed his own ring took measurements and supeeeeer happy! Da kasi makan after that all happy happy liao!

Ring and rantai for me were bought from Meyson! and of coz I had to have my bodyguards on standby…bro in law and gf! I always love getting the family involved and treated to food whole day!

3) Met up with Uncle Lan Comel Molek

Lastly!! I met up with my Deco!! AAAARGH!!! nie part exciting gila coz it shows we are supeeeer near the date yo!! Met Uncle Lan at Marsiling CC on a Monday evening with mom and kak noi.. sat down to discuss concepts and colours…I would not be getting Chiavari chairs despite being OOO PRETTY AND GLAMZ! As respecting my mom decision, she was afraid old folks from our family will not be comfortable sitting on those for long… Takpe la aku sacrifice this part coz COMFORT comes first…

And Unlce Lan said he will add surprise touches to my concept idea…Hmmm I wonder what and I superbly KENUT wait k!!! Ya allah nie part of the planning i very sungguh-sungguh!!

So that is all my excitement at the moment. Slowly slowly the preps are taking shape and looking well into the plan. Insya allah..

There are more to be done I shall update on another post sooooon k babes.. 🙂

Final Vendor soooon!!

Soo I am meeeting my photographer tomorrow to drop my deposit! I must say i am a super chilled bride…i got 11 more months baru nak settle major vendors!

So I have selected Nifty Degree !! I fell in love with their photography based on casual photos as one of the photographers is Mr A’s colleague and rakan seperjuangan dikir barat! And he takes awesomeee casual photos..so bila da dapat tengok the portfolio..my heart went bloop bloop blooop…lawaaanye!!

Despite being members…his quotes are not based on members price OK! Yup of cause we have to save money but I am not a person who asks for members price because 1 thing I believe they are running a business to feed themselves and secondly if harga da munasabah nak members price aper lagi kan…

Videography Sealed!!!

So its almost end of December and as mentioned me and fiance supposed to seal the deal for our videography..abd we DID!!!

Well we have selected Bizkode as our wedding videography vendor! Sooo excited gila…coz i am actually working with my own group of friends…

image

I da pilih package Cinematography! Its sooo cheap and all the required things i would need! 🙂 da settle da video! left to seal with photography lak! But i would settle that in January instead..and I would be done depositing all my core vendors…
Unfortunately Bizkode is fully booked for 2015 & 2016 afterwhich wedding videography are out of their jobscope…sedih kan! Baru nak promote dorang…well they will be focusing on TV video production lak…So all the best for them and I am 1 YEAR left to the WEDDING!!!

On a sidenote! AKRAB KOMPANG got invited to TV3 on 23 December on Malaysia Hari Ini (MHI)! For an interview and performance… Alhamdullilah…due to the viral FB posts we have receive enquiries on overseas weddings…this is ultimately good news and such a motivation for us to strive forward!

Sooo proud and bangga for this opportunity!! Anyways…if you are interested to catch the segment..catch it on Tonton.com !!! Register and look out for MHI 2014.

Also..psst psst…excited nie dengar dengar Akrab pun nak ader NEW UNIFORM!!  Aku lak yg super excited!  Hehehehehe….

It went Viral!!

So last weekend…the team terkejut bila sorang satu on FB have been tagged by many of our friends that Akrab Kompang has went viral on certain famous Malaysia troll/entertainment pages…

image

That feeling macam terkejut ader…syukur ader…but most importantly feeling of OMG im so proud of the boys moment…of coz there is a lot of room for improvement but our basic principal is always to entertain the bride and groom with their families…and Alhamdullilah! That mission is accomplished.. we might not be colourfully dressed up and no fancy massy percussions! But niat is always ikhlas…that is where i learnt from the Boss who start Akrab and the meaning behing Akrab is our main goal for everything!

Insya allah to more rezeki! And i miss them truckloads…busy prepping for my own wedding ive not been actively involved with their wedding keluarans and to video them!

But we are just 2 years old into the industry syukur teramat sangat atas yg diberi…

Click click Photobooth!

Ok da lama tak blog coz I have been busy for the past weekends with alot of work and weddings… and of coz preps!

So I da managed to find the most suitable caterer for fiancè…Dia nye dad yang the fussy one…as an indian muslim…briyani die must be the proper briyani taste and texture! Thankfully I went to a friend’s wedding and she briyani dam served! Walaupun lauk die super minimal takde variety! i tell you it was puas hati…i can literally jus eat the briyani without adding other dishes! So Mohd. Shah Catering and Services was the final choice for the FIL….finally 2nd vendor down for fiancè..

Next is the question for photobooth….i have been searching high and low for a suitable one… Firstly the question of nak DIY ke nak use a vendor… Then the prob is vendors which are the good ones???I thought i found the 1 but bile i enquire it was hmmmm annoying..i find this request where i have to get the extension from deco for them…

This is very merepek for me because for once you are a vendor…why cant you invest on your own extensions for yourselves…secondly we did not pay the decos to provide you with extension..nanti pape jadi like short circuit ke aper ke..who are you going to blame…and i seriously do not see professionalism in that…yes it is a simple request..but i just think as a vendor you should have your equipments from a-z!

Then I have seen the hoohaaas of wishing wand which everyone is using…but i have been personally involved with my friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid..and sungguh dissappointed with them! I would have expected more props from them since konon-konon nye they are the pioneer so they would have up the game…but props die je da minimal…and not as much as what i expexted…and the guestbook questions were always repeated causing the greetings being quite stagnant…

So I am left with no clue which photobooth vendors are around with quality yet affordable…BTBs! Feeeeedback and opinions pleaaase!!
