Budget, budget, budget and MORE!!

So yes it is Dinner time…mak cooked another feast again…but o wells i have to blog this first as it has been on my mind lately…

So BTBs I do not know if you girls have a habit of even setting up a budget tracker first before you all start recce on vendors and then just choose whatever affordable  or whatever you seem to like or any other reasons….

I am basically an events coordinator/project manager in my daily line of work.. so for every event i handle it is a basic thing for us to start budgeting before we sign the contract and start work…

Thus nak pendek cerita! I am actually doing it for my wedding planning as well…from there baru la kita tahu how much to save! How much we budgeted but its overcost suddenly or undercost (save duit laaa!!)

So advised for all BTBs don’t get too excited when a budget is not in place yet…Budget spreadsheets are good for you to also have a bigger view and tengok pape yang tertinggal…It can also act as your reminder of which deposit is needed or due….

I am not the most organised! But i have my way of putting up spreadsheets which i understand la…so here is a screenshot of my budget spread…

You can have it your way your style yang MOST IMPORTANT! have one before you jump the wagon on selecting your vendors…DON’T do it after all the vendors are selected baru nak buat…2 bukan budget spreadsheet…da dipanggil EXPENSE spreadsheet…when you set a limit to spending insya allah you will be more disciplined to follow it…

It also makes you prepared of how much a wedding cost and how much you will have to save and prepare for all the deposits….

12 September and its Present!

12 September was our mini family session of Merisik cum Engagement…I do not know why but huge engagements were never my dream since young and i do not get it..culturally despite yes it is a colourful culture of its traditions and ways…i just deem that it was unneccessary and a waste of $$$.

I did not take leave for this special day..was working till evening when they were suppose to arrive at 7.30pm… It was kinda rushed I had to prepare the last minute preps and get ready for their arrival…

The feeling was super exciting!! I was like  O M Gee!! Im becomin someone’s fiancee in a few more minutes..I was in my baju kurung..getting ready..

Busy whatsapping my friends…multi tasking! And all till 5 minutes before they reached! Feeling hungry tired and abit cranky i was probably one of the most chilled most weird fiancee ever! Waiting in the room watching tv! Audio messaging with my kekek friends! Whatsapping my bf and sis with whats happening outside!
1/2 hr later..my sis came in! Thought it was not done still watching TV! she stared at me! And i was like what?! She stared at me back and “Harlow! Time to go out la!” … *bimbo moment la sangat…perangai abis!

And so all the sarung cincin happen!

Took looads of photo! And yes it was all over..and they had a feast! While i was busy taking more photos! And then back to the kitchen to take care of logistics! *cuci pinggan mangkuk babe!

And we are OFFICIALLY ENGAGED!! Alhamdullilah da selesai..it was easy and fuss free less than $500 spend..Everyone was happy…and it ended on well…syukur alhamdullilah..

Now the Express service of preps are ongoing!! Let’s do this!

5 more days to Mini Affair….

It is about 5 more days to having our small mini affair of meet the parents session as well as the exchanging of engagement rings or “promise” rings!!

Did our last minute shopping in JB yesterday and yea! It was soo tiring….well the reason why I did my shopping in JB is due to the fact that I am taking advantages of conversion rates and of coz the vast variety of different items needed for a malay cultured wedding preps…

Choice of Jeweller is Habib Jewellery…of coz there are other Jewellers around such as Wah Chan Jeweller located at Angsana Shopping Mall…

Being prompt shoppers we did quite abit of all within a day and there isnt any delays..Alhamdullilah…

FTB was being so understanding…when choosing the ring the fact that it has to be gold as requested by his mom…he compromised that I can choose the design since I was wearing it…I did my choice something unique that the sales lady mentioned not many bought it as they do not know how to wear it on which direction! And my sis was spot on…she said…haish its difficult when she loves unique stuff!

And that ring was my exact choice! Like i said the newer generation hates wearing gold coz it looks MAKCIK-ish (outdated old woman’s fashion)…and would prefer diamond’s ring! But well sometimes you just have to compromise situations….

So abit more shopping to exchange dulangs (engagement presents) and I am so done for Friday’s preps! 🙂
